Thanksgiving Mini Book (5 pictures) 1. Create a new canvas (file, new) that is 3.6 high by 18 wide. 2. Open (file, open) the 1ribbonsorange.jpg paper from the Ribbon folder on Digital Scrapbook Memories Collection Two. Use your move tool to drag it onto the left side of the new canvas you opened earlier. Drag the same paper a second time and place it on the right side of the new canvas so they overlap or they are touching each other. 3. Open the texturedgold.jpg paper from the Rust Letter file on Digital Scrapbook Memories Collection Two. Change the hue of this paper to -20. Use your move tool to drag it onto the left side of the mini book. Make sure you drag it low enough that you can still see the ribbon paper on the top half of the mini book. Drag it a second time onto the right side of the book so they overlap or are touching each other. 4. Use your crop tool to crop 5 photos each to 3.6 wide by 2 high. 5. Drag each of the photos onto your canvas. Put each picture side by side in the middle of the page like this 6. Type whatever text you want below the pictures. I chose to write about some of the things I am thankful for. Use any font you think looks good. I used Blackadder ITC. 7. As with all digital projects its easy to print whatever size you want. You can keep the project this size and print it on a 12x18 print at the photo lab or you could change the size down so that it will print on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper at home. Either way, follow these instructions so that you can fit multiple prints on the same page. 8. Once you have printed the pictures cut the strip of pictures out and fold in between each of the photos. Fold the strip accordion style. 9. Cut a matching piece of cardstock to 4x8 then fold in half. 10. Glue the first of the five folded sections inside the folded cardstock. If you are holding the folded cardstock as if it were a book the first picture section should be glued on the left inside cover. Cover: 11. Create a new 3.6 x 3.6 canvas. Follow steps 2 and 3 again. 12. Choose the photo you want on the cover and crop it to 3.6 wide by 2 high. Drag that photo into the center of your canvas. Add text if you like. 13. Choose a matching ribbon and cut it long enough that it can circle your album and still be tied into a bow. Tape the ribbon down under where your cover layout will go. 14. After printing the cover, glue it down on top of the ribbon on the front of your book. I personally like to back my cover layout with cardstock before gluing it down but this is not necessary.
Second Thanksgiving Mini Book (with 6 pictures) Follow the steps for the 5 picture layout except change these things: In step one: Make your canvas 3 x 18 (instead of 3.6) In step two: Open (file, open) the thanksgiving.jpg paper from the Fall file on Digital Scrapbook Memories Seasons and Holidays CD. Change the size of that paper to 3 x 3. Use your move tool to drag it onto the left side of the new canvas you opened earlier. Drag the same paper 5 more times until you have 6 side by side. I like to rotate each paper so that they appear different but this is not necessary. In step three: Open the brown paper called thanksgiving (6).jpg from Fall file on Digital Scrapbook Memories Seasons and Holidays CD, then use your move tool to drag it onto the left side of the mini book. Make sure you drag it low enough that you can still see the Thanksgiving paper on the top half of the mini book. Drag it a second time onto the right side of the book so the papers overlap or are touching each other. In step four: Use your crop tool to crop 6 photos each to 3 wide by 1.5 high. In step nine: Cut a matching piece of cardstock to 3.5 x 7 then fold in half. In step eleven: Make your cover layout 3 x 3. In step twelve: Crop your cover photo to 3 by 1.5.
